GPJ is hiring a CAD Administrator/designer to support the Live Production team!

This role is hybrid, requiring you to report on-site to one of the following office locations a minimum of 2 days/week: San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Austin, Nashville, Detroit, Boston, or New York City.

Your Role 

In this role, you will leverage advanced Vectorworks and Spotlight skills, along with your background in theatrical, set, and scenic design, to create detailed floor plans and elevations for a wide range of live event projects. Whether designing conference keynote stages, large-scale public festivals, ceremonies, auto shows, or broadcast and industry events, you will bring each vision to life with precision and creativity. Additionally, you will manage the integration of technical elements (A/V/L & Rigging) into collaborative plans, working closely with GPJ Fabrication, Engineering, and the technical vendors assigned to each project. This is a theatrical live production role.

Your Skills

  • Your Vectorworks Spotlight skills are at the expert level.  
  • You can draw in 2D/3D (Front, Elevations, Sections and Isometric views)
  • Create and edit Titleblocks; use and create Records and Worksheets; create 3D models; use Classes and Layers; import-export DWG’s; use Rendering tools for Visualization; create Texture; and more.  
  • Cinema 4D and/or Light Converse knowledge is a plus. 
  • You are comfortable with the fast pace and tight deadlines that drive this industry and can cope with the stress and pressure that sometimes ensue.  
  • You are able to work at lightning speed to meet strict turn-around times and could be working on multiple curated projects.
  •  You are adept at establishing efficient workflow protocols and can easily adapt to new processes. 
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and are able to effectively communicate with stakeholders to share and collect information required to complete accurate work.

Strong communication skills with each member of the team (GPJ, Client and Partners) in sharing information, advising but being decisive as required to ensure success. Strong advocate for safe environment for attendees and staff ensuring each project has all required certifications and documentation.

Curiosity – Desire to discover, explore, learn and expand knowledge of digital, technical, theatrical and media elements to bring brands to life in the most effective way. Live production is one of the most powerful forms of communication in experience marketing and your role is to partner with the strategy, creative and account teams in bringing the best ideas forward and put the strategy into action.

Salary Range: $120k – $135k  

Salary is dependent on a variety of factors including (but not limited to) experience, skills, and location.
